The last race of the year :( - this is not how we wanted to end what was supposed to be our best year yet. This year has been very frustrating to me & the team, we were plagued by miscues, mistakes, and if you will, just not paying attention to detail! So it figures that the last race would bite hard and give us a nickel for us to sit on till next year. After mudpack, hot laps proved that the track was not quite ready and coming out of turn 2 the car slides up and I tag the wall. Now we scramble to fix it and miss our qualifying spot and they let us take a one lap qual. The track by now is completely gone dry slick and there is absolutely nothing for bite. We start the first heat on the pole and immediately go backwards as there is no traction at all & I don’t want to hurt the car by over driving. So to the B main we go and start 7th. They have done the track and it is now great! Run the first couple of laps easy and then in turn 3 I get collected by the car in front of me. RF wheel is toast and they push me to the hot pit, change the tire and tag the rear, green flag and then we make up a few spots and finish 7th, wow how’s that for karma? Car felt awesome and fast, so we load her up and say good bye to this incredibly difficult year. We will do our home work, and be back next year with (keeping positive) much better results. Thanks again to all of our race fans for staying in touch! Remember keep the rubber down!

Perris continues to be a bit of a challenge. Although, after making the car way to tight, my mistake-go figure :). Bicycled in turn one and ended up on the wall. Ahhhhh, enough of this crashing, we will figure it out and be back to "our winning ways". Frame is ok, but the guys and my egos are severly beaten! We will be back!

This past Friday night, we brought down the car and one of the
Race simulators from USA Simulators to Crusin’ Grand in
Escondido. It was a fun night for all. With thousands of people
Walking the streets of Escondido looking at hundreds of hot rods,
They also had the chance to ride in the race simulators. Thank you

I would like to take this opportunity to express my personal thanks to Brad and his family for taking us under their wings and towing our new trailer to the races and the fantastic help from his boys Dallas & Colton.
So you might be asking "what’s going on!? Well, things are transpiring quite nicely. We have seemed to have adopted that incurable racing monkey that continues to hang out with us at the races. No matter who, what or where that monkey & his sidekick Murphy are just around the corner. UHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I wish they could find another friend or friends! Maybe I can buy them a ticket somewhere :)
Mel Murphy of Circle Track Racing in Riverside California continues to give invaluable advice, we couldn't do it without him and he gives me the confidence to drive the car the way it should be driven! So, for the August 20th race things went great, with the exception of a blown hydraulic line during the heat and also the brand new RR tire was down to 3lbs when we pulled into the pits after the race. Nice big chunk out of it, well so much for a new $200 tire, man will somebody please give that damn monkey a banana or something! Just get him off my back :) Now, you might be asking what happened in the main? Well, Mel set the car up and explained to me that it would be very tight for a few laps. Boy was he right, and to perfectly honest I just never got the chance to run the Hot Rod the way it was supposed to be. Sorry folks, but I promise that the September race we will be even trying harder and we have a surprise for that damn monkey and his sidekick Murphy!

We did learn and important lesson Saturday night. Make sure we have enough fuel in the car to get to the finish line. Yes thats right we ran out of fuel leading our heat race.Then when pushing off for the feature the #69 RWMS machine wouldn't stay in gear so that was the end of our evening. On the positive the car ran good and it was Fast, we all learned many things from the night and now we must move forward,knowing that we have a fast car. It was a good night out for the first time in 2011.
